Channel Supported Devices

This page is available by selecting Preferences > Channel Preferences

Each installed channel within Metaflow has device information that can be viewed and edited.

Please note that Metaflow have a number of in-house tools available that allow importing and validation of channel device data far faster than manually editing devices. Therefore strongly recommended that any changes to channel data be handled by sending Metaflow the information for immediate import.

Channel supported devices can then be added, removed or changed. However, the standard entries that are provided by Metaflow are the device drop lists provided by the channels themselves. These changes are performed under the support and maintenance contract agreement between the licensee and Metaflow. Therefore, if changes are desired, then the licensee should ensure the changes meet the required specifications of the relevant channel.

A channel device group is typically a device group with a group name containing at least a single real device.

During Packaging in Metaflow, only those assets/SKUs with at least one group containing a real device that is also supported by the channel will be Packageable for the channel. Use the Bundle Editor for checking and editing an asset's supported devices or device compatibilities.

For each asset that satisfies the requirement above of being a real device, use the channel's group name rather than the Licensee programmed real device name when outputting packaged assets for this channel. This allows the channel to use different device names in file naming without adding the same device multiple times to the underlying device repository.
