Channel Supported Languages

This page is available by selecting Preferences > Channel Preferences

Each installed channel within Metaflow has language information which the licensee can both view and edit. If the user believes a channel supports languages other than those assigned, they may add language support for their own version of the channel data.

The licensee can view and edit the languages for a channel by selecting languages which are supported for each channel (as shown in Caption 1:).

Caption 1: Channel supported Languages

Note: Some channels have language grouping capabilities and some only store supported single locales. This decision is based on the requirements for channel packaging and is defined in the channel plug-in code and is not edit-able by a Metaflow user.

Assets will only appear as a packagable item during Metaflow Packaging if they support at least one language supported by the channel in either grouped or flat configurations. If an asset is being ignored during packaging when it should not be, then the licensee is advised to go to the bundle editor to check and edit an asset's supported languages if required.

If more than one change is required to the bundles, the quicker and more controlled way to do this it to use filtered actions (see the Filtered Actions section).

Additionally, in a grouped channel configuration, the group name shall be used in the output filename. This allows a channel to support 'en' English but have filenames produced for it that use 'EN' in the packaged filename.
