FAQs

Can I manually edit any of the files in a metaflow project?

No, absolutely no manual editing of any files in a Metaflow project is supported. The complexity of Metaflow and its calculations when maintaining a project, it's files and it's state are often far more advanced than simply editing a single file. Therefore there is no support at all for any manual procedures and should a user feel there is a need to perform such a task, then they must immediately consult with Metaflow support to establish the use case for inclusion into the Metaflow product.

What to do if a project is deleted or needs to be accessed and set up on another Metaflow installation?

If you already had a discovered project then subsequently deleted it from your Metaflow environment or it was discovered on another installation of Metaflow then re-attaching or re-mounting the project into Metaflow requires you simply follow this procedure. Remounting Metaflow Projects

What to do if I need to remount multiple projects into metaflow?

If you already have discovered multiple projects, re-mounting the projects into Metaflow requires you simply follow this procedure. Remounting Multiple Metaflow Projects

Why can't I see my previous projects when I try to mount them in the new version of Metaflow?

Metaflow 2 is not backwards compatible with Metaflow 1 with regards to plan structure due to the changes in the discovery framework and the introduction of the concept of information scoping. Therefore, you will not be able to view plans created with Metaflow 1 in Metaflow 2. During the plan creation phase, Metaflow 2 creates a file that identifies the plan as having been created using the Metaflow 2 tool. Therefore, you will not be able to view a plan where this file does not exist.

What to do if I mistakenly close a Tab?

If at any time the user mistakenly closes any of the Tabs while working on a Plan or Project. Selecting the reset perspective button, will reopen any closed tabs

Can I rename a plan or a project? what will change?

Yes. This feature allows the user to Rename a Project or Plan purely for the purposes of keeping things organised, please be aware this feature does nothing more than change the name in Plan View, it does not rename any underlying folders etc. If the user subsequently deletes a plan or project the name will revert back to its original.
