Installation, is a more detailed explanation for users who have no previous experience with the Metaflow Client.)
Installation process
After downloading the installer, double click the executable and follow the installation process.
Select I Agree to initiate the installation.
Unless advised otherwise, use the default settings. Select Next when satisfied with the selections. prepopulated.)
Enter the path where the Metaflow application is to be installed. Select Next
If a previous version of Metaflow is installed and the workspace is to be migrated to the new installation. Browse to the previously installed workspace, if required. If this is a fresh installation or the existing workspace is not to be used select the Clear button.
Select Install
Metaflow will now install.
Following installation, a prompt will allow Metaflow to be run for the first time.
The Metaflow installation provides a new program group in the Windows program menu.
Metaflow can be launched by clicking on the Metaflow action inside this new group.
On the first start of Metaflow, the user is prompted for a license file.
Browse to the location of the new license file provided by Metaflow. Choose OK to accept the license.
Metaflow will now need to be restarted.
If prompted to do so, the user will need to enter the relevant Metaserver URL. When required, the appropriate values will be supplied by Metaflow. Choose OK
Once the correct Metaserver URL is entered, user name and password details must be supplied. Once again, these values will be supplied by Metaflow. Choose OK
Enter the correct email details for the Metaflow user. The email address will be used by Metaflow when sending an error message to support.
Metaflow will now start and update itself. Each time Metaflow is started, it will search for available updates. This step is critical as updates to Metaflow are available daily. In order to ensure the client has the latest code available, allow Metaflow to update itself on a daily basis.
Select the top selection box in the tree to download everything that is on offer to you.
Please accept the Metaflow Solutions Licence Agreement.
A summary of everything chosen for download is presented.
Select Finish
A progress bar shows the details of everything downloading. Time-to-download is dependent on network connection speeds.
After the updates have been downloaded, a Feature Verification page will appear.
Choose Install All.
A progress bar appears indicating the progress of installation of updates.
Once complete, Metaflow New Version will ask if you wish to restart. Choose Yes.
Please verify your installation by selecting Preferences > Channel Preferences and opening any one of the channels assigned to you.
Once this simple process is complete, spend a few minutes reading the Online Help and the FAQs to become familiar with the new version of Metaflow.
