Main Preferences

This page is available by selecting Preferences > Main Preferences. Listed below are the menu options available through the Main Preferences

Display Settings


Caption 1: Display settings overview

It is possible to change the background colour of Plan, Tree and Backfill views to assist in distinguishing the different views as shown in Caption 2 & 3

Caption 3: Backfill Tree View and Backfill Editor Title Colour

Persist Editors: Enabling this will allow the Metaflow Client to remember its state from the last time it was closed.

Display tool-tips in Plan view: This provides mouse-over tool-tips in Metaflow Plan view.

Close Editors on Clear Cache: Enabling this will close every open editor when clear cache is either selected or instructed by RSS.

Exchange Server

Metaflow Exchange Server URL: Please contact Metaflow Support for further details.

Imaging


Caption 4: Imaging preferences set to Maximum

The imaging preferences allow you to change the scope in which you can edit images as shown in Caption 4

Aspect Ratio Factor: The aspect ratio factor limits whether an image may be scaled based on having a similar aspect ratio ( width/height ratio ) to the required image size.

Clip Factor: The clip factor limits whether an image may be clipped based on how much of the image must be clipped to achieve the required image size.

License


Caption 5: Adding licence file

At the start of the Evaluation Period of the Metaflow Client, a licence file will be provided.

Using the Browse button, navigate to the location of the licence file. Metaflow will automatically show the days left till expiry as shown in Caption 5.

Mail


Caption 6: Mail Preferences

Set up your mail details to support submissions and email actions relating to submissions. Complete the outgoing email server details.

Address Book: A user's address book can also be imported into Metaflow mail settings for fast access. More often than not, the deployment person will need to repeatedly email the relevant contacts they have for the sales channels for which they look after deployments.

Metaserver


Caption 7: Metaserver Settings

This is where the Metaserver URL can be edited. Please ensure this value corresponds to the one supplied by Metaflow. if in any doubt of the correct URL, Use the Restore Defaults button to retrieve the correct URL.

Miscellaneous settings


Caption 8: Miscellaneous Settings

Allow Advanced Exporter View

Make copy of all zip's in Xproject export at top level

Auto Group device tree by manufacturer: It is recommended to leave this box checked.

Remove temporary checked out files on exit

7-ZIP Install path: Installation path of the 7-Zip Compression Tool (if installed).

J2ME Install path: Installation path of J2ME(if installed).

WinRAR Install Path: Installation path of the WinRAR compression tool. This is required to run submission preparation for some channels.

Submissions Archive Directory: When purging submissions from the file system with Metaflow, the submissions will be archived and stored in the directory specified. Remember that this will use additional disk space so the purged file system resources will be used by the archived submissions.

Submission Checkout Directory

Support Center URL: This is the URL of the Metaflow Support Center.

Metaflow Help Website URL: This is the URL of the Metaflow help site.

Project Checkout Directory: This is the default directory in which to create projects in Metaflow.

Plan


Caption 9: Inherit Project To-Do

Inherit project To-do's when creating new plan : Selecting the tick box will allow any new plan to inherit any To Do's that have been set at a project level, as shown in Caption 9. For additional Information on Project To-Do pages, please see Project To-Do.

Proxy Settings


Caption 10: Proxy Server Preferences Setting

If a Proxy is configured at your site, it will be necessary to configure Metaflow accordingly. Please contact the in-house IT department to find out how to configure these settings.

RSS


Caption 11: RSS Focus tools

Set Focus on RRS View on item receive : Enabling this feature will set the view in the Metaflow Client to the RSS tab when a new feed is received.

Set Focus on RSS View on Bootup : Enabling this feature will set the Focus to RSS tab when the client is started

Server


Caption 12: Metaflow Server Settings

Server URL Setting: Contains the address of the Metaflow server and standard time-out in seconds (These values should be left at default) as shown in Caption 12.

Update Settings


Caption 13: Update Settings

Metaflow updatesite URL: Contains the address of the Metaflow update server. Enabling this feature will set Metaflow to Automatically scan for updates on Boot (These values should be left at default) as shown in Caption 13.
